She is using her personal wealth and donations from some of the richest Oregonians to buy the County’s top leadership position. Multnomah County is the public safety net that 815,000 people rely on. She can’t be trusted to lead this important institution.

The region has a housing shortage, and Brim-Edwards owns five houses. While she amassed homes and properties, families across the County struggle to find affordable places to live.

Did seven PPS board members warn voters about Brim-Edwards being the County Chair? Yes, seven members of the Portland Public School Board who served alongside Brim-Edwards wrote a detailed letter explaining why she is unfit to lead the county. Read the full letter here.

Was Julia Brim-Edwards a corporate lobbyist? Yes, she served as a lobbyist for Nike for years and has received thousands in donations from corporate leaders.

Did Brim-Edwards propose cuts to the voter-approved Preschool for All program?  Yes. In August 2025, as a County Commissioner, Brim-Edwards introduced a proposal, at the behest of wealthy business lobbyists, to cut or pause the lifesaving Preschool for All program. The program, supported by 64% of the county voters, provides free preschool to families and saves them upwards of $25,000 annually. Did Brim-Edwards really donate to anti-gay George W. Bush? Yes, Brim-Edwards donated to the George W. Bush presidential campaign. In 2001-02, Bush ordered the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, then ran one of the most anti-LGBTQ re-election campaigns in the history of our country in 2004. She also donated to conservatives Gordon Smith and Greg Walden, among others.
